I ended up not reading it partially because I was reading something else, but also because no one seemed too excited about it. At least the people I talked to.

Almost everyone who showed up actually liked it, myself included. I think it was a good story and compelling as well. The few choices the protagonist could make in her life were not easy.
I also like Isabel Allende's writing.
